Those Smoky Eyes

A few weeks back, I was lucky enough to have a full Mac makeover. I was a bit nervous going in as I'm not really used to other people doing my makeup, I blink like crazy should someone come anywhere near my eyes with mascara, I'm also nervous about looking like a clown. I've only recently been doing my own full face make-up (My idea of makeup used to consist of eye shadow and Vaseline, but I'm learning). But yes, back to the topic at hand... I went to a makeover studio in Covent Garden called Envy London (they also do photo shoots) and got my makeup done. I absolutely adored the smoky eye effect they did...

Country House Stay

Hey My Lovelies, not too long ago Elliot and I went to Battle in East Sussex. It's such a intriguing town, you can just feel the history as you walk through the lanes. We stayed at this lovely little country house hotel, which was beautifully peaceful and tranquil. I would definitely love to go again.

Inside was very nice and the rooms were clean and cosy. We had a communal garden and amazing view of the lake. It was very quiet, which was a nice change. Also the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Check out their website here.

Catch up and Lebanese Food

I had a catch up with my old college friend Bhavna, who took me to a lovely Lebanese restaurant in Balham called Beyrouths. It was my first time eating Lebanese food and I can honestly say I'm in love. I love that it's very light and has a variety of flavours... I will link their website below. I had the Shish Khosh Khash - Charcoal grilled chicken with rice, salad, the most delicious tomatoey spicy sauce and thin bread. When I walked in, the first thing I saw was the amazing wall.

We had the best pink lemonade I've ever taste, really lovely and natural, real blended strawberries!!

Fish, Chips and Trocadero

So last Saturday Elliot (The Boyfriend) and I went to a cool little Fish and Chips restaurant in Covent Garden. For those who are Groupon Addicts like myself, you may have seen a voucher on there for a fish and chips meal for £6. I've been seeing it for ages, but wondered whether it would be worth buying... I live under the rule that if you are going to have traditional fish and chips, it has to be a REAL TRADITIONAL FISH AND CHIPS! I completely forgot to take pictures of the place and food, but this me in the restaurant. I will link their Facebook page below and also the Groupon voucher. I had the "Big Ben" which is chips, cod and battered tiger prawns.
We then went to Trocadero... Last time we visited Troc, I beat Elliot at the basketball game and car racing games, he has been determined to beat me ever since. OK, he managed to beat me at the basketball this time, but I again beat him at the racing game AND ice hockey. Yes, we do get a little bit competitive.
On the train home there was a guy singing loudly, he didn't have the greatest singing voice and it was obvious that people on the train were finding him annoying, especially when he tried serenading people. It was funny. Elliot and I took these pics on the way home.

The Lyttleton

Last weekend, my boyfriend took me to a lovely restaurant in Green Park called "The Lyttleton", which is in the Stafford Hotel. He found a deal on Travelzoo offering a 3 course dinner with champagne. It was nicely tucked away behind rows of apartments and can be found down a cute little gated pathway. After standing outside the hotel pondering for about 7 minutes whether it was the place, we went in and was amazed by the elegant decor. The staff were very friendly and the food was delish; I had the salmon as a starter and monkfish as a main... and for those who are choco-holics, definitely try the Hot Chocolate Fondant! Their menu can be found on their website: www.thelyttelton.com
